@ManojLalu It does feel that way sometimes, doesn’t it? I can think and learn much more on days that I leave Outlook closed and throw the phone away. Those habits get too Pavlovian sometimes. Technology is supposed to serve us, but really wonder if it’s other way around.

@dmonett We’re very much in hype phase where #DeepLearning / #MachineLearning is thrown at seemingly every question. Some bona fide hits, but many misses. Problem is publication bias selects against misses, so those are dressed up as ‘hits’. Interesting preprint, thanks for sharing. 👍

@lukeoneil47 @JennElizabethJ The US health care system is not particularly interested in providing care for patients. But it is very interested in maximizing profits by finding excuses not to provide care. Got to see this firsthand, dealing with insurance companies many times on my mother’s behalf.
