@pernilleripp Honestly, this year is great! I'm able to teach K like I did pre-Covid and I only have 18 students. I have some overly concerned parents, but my principal is awesome and supportive!
Advice learned from my mom, a 37 year retired educator: “If you always do what’s best for kids there will always be a place for you in education. You will also piss some people off along the way. Get used to it.” Tag a teacher who always does what’s best for kids👇.

@natariastx My principal regularly takes pictures of our classrooms and shares them with us to show us how amazing it looks from her perspective. I hope she never has to use the pictures in this situation. Sending love and prayers.
Today my principal received a Herb Kohl award and was named Wisconsin Elementary Principal of the year! I'm so proud of her! She is so kind and generous! @SFilter11
@hechternacht We start each day with Community Circle. Everyone has a chance each day to tell the whole group something. I make a point to really listen each day. I also tell them all about my family and they just love that.
@richardmarx Thank you so much! My husband and I have been fans since we were teenagers! When I got home from a long week of teaching Kindergarten my wonderful husband told me we were attending your virtual concert! It was perfect!
@CarrieMarshall1 I completely agree! Even though we have been in person all school year, we still have to maintain social distancing, cannot share supplies, playtime is so different. It will impact these children for years to come.
I have a message for all the little girls and boys out there who dream of growing up to be superheroes: Superheroes walk among us.
They’re teachers, doctors, scientists, vaccine researchers—and you can grow up to be like them too.
I've loved this quote for a while, but its especially appropriate this Monday as I gear up to start teaching Kindergarten, in person, during a pandemic. #madtribe
