Today, I am officially sharing that I am running for Worcester Mayor and City Councilor At Large.
I’m a social worker of 30 years, City Councilor, and proud Girl Dad. I’ve dedicated my life to public service and mentoring young people throughout Worcester. #worcpoli #mapoli

As City Councilor, I led on allowing homeowners to build accessory dwelling units and lowering rents for seniors. I secured 1.5 million for youth sports, 
and took on the political establishment when it came to transparency and accountability. In hard times, I lead.
City Hall is failing you. There is no real leadership, no accountability to residents, and the divisive politics is causing dysfunction. 
Meanwhile, housing prices and the cost of living are pushing both long term and newer residents out. We can’t let Worcester become another unaffordable extension of Boston. 

We need to reject petty politics, come together, and get things done. Working families are tired of the same song and dance.

Worcester has lost a civic trailblazer.

Bill Coleman’s presence in local politics inspired me as a boy. I told @worcestermag in 2015:

“He was the only person who looked like me in the paper—and he was a candidate.”

His advocacy and influence will be deeply missed. Rest in power. Condolences to his friends, family ans all who mourn this loss. 🙏🏾

Last night at City Council we discussed what happened at Worcester’s Memorial Day ceremony; which was disturbing—and unacceptable.

While honoring veterans, an individual verbally assaulted Senator Kennedy and Councilor Haxhiaj with profanities and anti-immigrant hate.

I approached to intervene—and was immediately targeted with hostility.

This wasn’t protest. This wasn’t free speech.

It was intimidation. It was harassment. And it happened in full view of others, including Mayor Petty—who walked away.

The man followed us after the incident, remaining at time just out of eye sight. People around us feared it might escalate to violence.

That fear was real. That danger was real.
