The White House has blocked DHS from publishing monthly deportation and arrest statistics for the past year and a half.

After deporting about 400,000 illegal immigrants in its first year, the Trump administration pushed the tally to 3 million by claiming that 2.2 million illegal immigrants have self-deported, an estimated but unconfirmed figure.

Markwayne Mullin, the DHS Secretary, says daily arrests are averaging 4,200, but no official data has been released to substantiate that claim. Unlike previous administrations, the Trump administration has relied on press releases to report deportation and arrest figures rather than releasing the numbers on the OHSS website, which has not been updated from the 2024 data.
