Adding my support here to GC and the other former international captains. I hope the court ordered medical assessment be allowed to run its course, and that family visits continue. I hope Imran Khan is treated with the dignity anyone deserves

Kuwait has restricted visas for 🇵🇰is for years and has largely stopped issuing them. But now after getting smashed by Iran, it suddenly remembers 🇵🇰 and wants to sign a defense agreement. In my opinion, it's better to leave such fair-weather partners to fend for themselves.
Canada welcomes today’s announcement of an agreement between the U.S. and Iran and extends its appreciation to Pakistan, Qatar, and other partners for facilitating the negotiations.
PRESS SEC on U.S.-Iran negotiations: The Pakistanis have been incredible mediators and we really appreciate their friendship and efforts to bring this deal to a close.
The President feels it's important to continue to streamline this communication through the Pakistanis.
The two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran today is welcomed by the UK and our allies.
The goal now must be a lasting end to the war.
Alongside our international partners, the UK will work to ensure a return to freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
I welcome the two-week ceasefire the US and Iran agreed last night. It brings much-needed de-escalation.
I thank Pakistan for its mediation.
Now it is crucial that negotiations for an enduring solution to this conflict continue.
We will continue coordinating with our partners to this end.
What the Gulf states are learning now—and what the Europeans will soon learn—is the danger of being frontline states for a declining hegemon. During the post–Cold War hegemonic era, the US was the only game in town, and the alliance system was a source of security. As the hegemon declines and uses its military more aggressively to prevent rivals from rising, frontline states get pummeled, and protection is gone. How to adjust to a multipolar world should be the focus of our security discussions - but our leaders are instead cosplaying WW2 and shutting down open discourse.
Pakistan’s shift from net metering to net billing in simple numbers:
You consume 500 units from the grid; your solar exports 400 units.
Old net metering:
Bill = (500 − 400) × ~Rs33 ≈ Rs3,300
New net billing:
Buy 500 × Rs33 ≈ Rs16,500
Sell 400 × ~Rs10 ≈ Rs4,000 credit
Final bill ≈ Rs12,500
Same solar. Very different bill.
PMLN trapped us in terrible IPP deals (many involving corruption and cuts), and we’re still bleeding because of them. Thank you, Sharifistan.
China doesn't have a company valued >1T USD, because there is COMPETITION.
They don't have one Apple, they have Oppo, Xiaomi, Huawei
They don't have one Tesla, they have BYD, Nio, XPeng, Li Auto
They don't have one Amazon, they have Taobao, Douyin shops, JD.
US trillion dollar companies are protected monopolies.
Might be cool for the shareholders, but consumers have to put up with shitty Pixel phones, buggy Windows, overpriced mid Teslas, and Facebook bot-slop.
Chinese consumers get better products for less money.
