Power Rankings for how definitive the GOAT is for sports:
1. Gretzky for hockey
2. Messi for soccer (I’m pretty exhausted by the idea that there is another guy)
3. Brady for football
4. Ohtani for baseball 😏
5. Jordan vs LeBron for basketball
@DKThomp Correct conclusion but the wrong cause. The best players have played in Europe since the 80’s. Maradona spent the bulk of his career in Spain and Italy.
The moneyball of soccer is more learning that certain styles are suboptimal. Get better shots is akin to shoot more 3’s.
I expect Poch to go back to club soccer but would love to have him back. Heartbreaking way to end it and yet the disappointment is a result of him building up the highest aspirations we’ve ever had for the USMNT.
@Statholesports Once you’ve played in an official match for a country (such as a World Cup match) you are then permanently tied to that country. No transfer portal in international soccer!
