After a week on the Somme researching for @KinghamThe, here was a tremendous find. It's an HP Sauce bottle, with a bit of label intact and remains of sauce still in the bottom. I've decided to keep the Somme mud too!

The @kinghamhillsch Battalion demobilised back on return to Blighty last night.
As we return to our everyday lives, we pray we will remember the experience for many years to come.
We cannot help but remember those from our beloved Hill who never returned.

Would parents please park considerately, leaving plenty of room for a large coach to manoeuvre around to Top School alongside the flagpoles.
This will make your departure having picked up your child as smooth and as rapid as possible.
We look forward to seeing you on the Hill.
JOURNEY UPDATE:
Having stopped at Cobham services on the M25, we are now on the move again. Our amazing driver tells us that, with the traffic round Heathrow, he expects us to be back at School for 2030. 1/2
The @kinghamhillsch Battalion were welcomed with open arms by Mr Williams's friends, Hans & Stephanie De Groote whose chocolate shop in Ypres is something of an institution. The troops went away well supplied!

The @kinghamhillsch are on their way back to Blighty via Ypres. We left the Château d'Ebblinghem just before 0830 (CET) after a splendid four nights. Thank you to Quentin and the team for looking after us so we'll. À la prochaine !

A sobering moment for @kinghamhillsch Battalion at Wellington Quarry, Arras. This is the stairway up which men sheltering underground advanced straight over the top into the Battle of Arras.
What would be going through the men's minds as they climbed these stairs?
@NSTHistory
The @kinghamhillsch Battalion ventured underground at Wellington Quarry this morning to learn about the impressive preparations for the Battle of Arras in 1917.

Remembering 8 of our Hillians who fought in the Canadian Infantry but have no known grave and are listed on the Vimy Memorial. Of the 64 men on our memorial in Chapel, 19 served in the Canadian Expeditionary Force. All sons of England and sons of Canada. @kinghamhillsch
Remembering Hillians Victor Thatcher, Richard Duckering, Fred Spriggs and Fred Burton, killed in the 1917 Battle of Arras, commemorated on the Arras Memorial. The wreath was laid by a Third Farmer who is researching Victor Thatcher for her DigiLit project. @kinghamhillsch
Come rain or shine, the @kinghamhillsch Battalion keeps on going. Here we are in the German trenches at Vimy Ridge in rather inclement conditions. @NSTHistory#fww#ww1
Un grand merci à la @VilleArras qui nous a permis de déjeuner dans la cantine de l'École Anatole France ce midi. Votre gentillesse rend notre visite au marché beaucoup plus conviviale et amusante. À l'année prochaine ! @NSTHistory@NSTLanguages@kinghamhillsch
This morning saw a bit of R&R for the @kinghamhillsch Battalion at the market in Arras. The pupils were challenged to buy the best picnic with just €5 each. It was great to hear them use their French in a real life situation. @NSTHistory@NSTLanguages
