Let's talk about the Zenith Bank story going around.
There's a lot of fear, but not enough facts. Here's exactly what happened, and more importantly, what it means for YOU as a customer.
Zenith Bank confirmed some customer contact details - emails and phone numbers - were accessed without authorization. That's the full scope. But here's the part everyone's skipping past...
NO money was touched. NO account numbers. NO passwords. NO PINs. Not one naira moved. This wasn't a breach of your funds - it was exposure of contact info, and that distinction matters a lot. Let me explain why.
This wasn't even a "Zenith-only" problem. The bank says it's linked to a bigger, global cyber-attack hitting multiple organizations right now. Nigeria's CAC, Sterling Bank, and Remita have all faced similar incidents this year. This is an industry-wide storm.
Zenith's Reaction:
The moment they discovered it, they activated incident response protocols, brought in cybersecurity measures, and kept every digital channel running. Your app, your ATM, your transfers, all working normally throughout.
Here's the only real risk now:
Scammers using this news to impersonate Zenith. If anyone calls or texts you, asking for your PIN, password, or OTP "to verify your account" - that is not the bank, that is a criminal. Zenith will NEVER ask for that.
Bottom line:
Your money is safe. Your login details are safe. The bank responded fast and has been transparent. Stay alert, ignore suspicious messages, and don't let panic do what the hackers couldn't.
Retweet this thread because someone on your timeline is panicking right now over something that didn't even touch their money. Let's calm the fear with facts. 🙏
Growing concerns have emerged over reports of terrorists deploying drones and the alleged presence of foreign commanders within the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), raising fresh questions about evolving security threats in Nigeria.
The commentary urged National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, to adopt a tougher stance on terrorism, citing Nigerian Army reports that operations in Borno State uncovered images allegedly identifying foreign ISWAP commanders from Palestine and Morocco.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of being the Guest Speaker at the Babcock International Model United Nations (BIMUN 26), held at Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, under the theme: “Better Together: A Decade of BIMUN Advancing the United Nations Vision for Peace, Development, and Human Rights.”
Before the students’ session, I had the pleasure of meeting with the University’s leadership, where we shared thoughts on the critical role of education in nation-building and sustainable development. I must commend the University’s management for their commitment to learning and excellence. I was truly impressed by the institution’s serene environment and the palpable culture of learning.
Engaging with these brilliant young minds on governance, leadership, human rights, the Sustainable Development Goals, and nation-building was both inspiring and reassuring. I reminded them that we must strive to build a society where the child of a nobody can become somebody without knowing anybody, a nation founded on merit, justice, equal opportunity, and strong institutions. Such a society can only be built through competent, compassionate, and character-driven leadership.
Africa has the world’s youngest population. If we are to build a more peaceful, prosperous, and equitable future, our young people cannot afford to remain on the sidelines. They must take a keener interest in leadership, governance, and active citizenship, because the future they desire is one they must help shape.
I remain confident that with the right leadership and an empowered youth population, we can build a nation that works for everyone.

Destroy their farms.
Make them feel unsecured.
Make their income insignificant.
Steal their dignity.
Make them extremely poor.
Then give them rice.
Saving Nigeria from APC is the responsibility of everyone who understands the above. There is so much work to be done.

Makinde Declared to Run Against Tinubu, They Kidnapped Children in His State; Cardinal Onaiyekan Spoke Truth to Power, They Kidnapped Members of His Denomination — Netizen Claims Nigerians Need No More Evidence That APC Is Behind Terrorism in Nigeria https://t.co/xbw4uYx4jc
The Catholic Church has over 35 million baptized members on record in Nigeria.
No Christian denomination can boast of such numbers.
These illegal illiterates in Aso Rock are about to understand that you can’t attack the truth.
The highly respected and consistently outspoken Cardinal John Onaiyekan is who the supporters of this criminally minded regime are calling unprintable names and deprecating publicly?
Pathetic!
It is a shame that truth has become so politicised in Nigeria. Today, if you speak the truth about the suffering of ordinary Nigerians, you are quickly labelled partisan. That should concern every Nigerian.
Cardinal Onaiyekan was not speaking for Catholics alone. He was speaking for millions of Nigerians who bear the weight of the present realities. The Church has always stood with the poor, the vulnerable and those whose voices are ignored. That is her mission.
Mr. Bwala, your statement is very divisive and by reducing a moral intervention by the Catholic Bishops on behalf of millions of suffering Nigerians to mere politics, you have lost all sense of the sacred. Not every voice that challenges those in power is a political voice.
The Church does not exist to defend any government or opposition. She exists to proclaim the Gospel, defend human dignity, and remind those in authority that power is a trust to be exercised for the good of the people. When we dismiss every uncomfortable truth as politics, we lose not only our moral compass but also our sense of what is sacred.

“I can bet you any amount of money. Let Bola bring out certificates of his primary school, secondary school and the university he attended.”
~Bode George says Tinubu has no certificates as they have gone to Govt College Ibadan which he claimed he attended and no records of him.
