Most of video shot in lower G at Kingston Penitentiary, typically was gen pop range. Some died there, including Shawn Cooper, 22, a schizophrenic serving 3 yrs for B&E and assault, stabbed to death on that range by a fellow con in June 2003.

The good 'ol wall toss - a bigger problem at some pens. At one time, Prison for Women in Kingston, ON had biggest over-the-wall prob of all federal pens. One wall of #P4W abutted a busy city street and bus stop. Packages were tossed over that wall into an outside exercise yard

FYI: Bernardo was declared a dangerous offender and got life-25 but DOs are eligible to seek parole every 2 years, after serving 7 years. His life-25 sentence took precedence. He was first eligible to seek full parole as of February 2018

A testament to the skills of the staff and inmate carpenters & engineers at Kingston Penitentiary, the ‘Nellie’ was built in 1882 and was used until 1887 when it was traded for another boat. It was named for Warden John Creighton’s 15-year old daughter Eleanor ‘Nellie’ Creighton.
