It’s been a long, mentally and physically exhausting seven months. After being misdiagnosed by multiple doctors, I was sidelined for four months — missing out on both club soccer and basketball during the spring and summer — all while grieving the loss of a loved one.
This journey has tested me in every way, but it’s also made me stronger. I finally feel like I’m back.
Thank you to my family, friends, teammates, trainers, and physical therapists for your constant support and belief in me. #Believe
That’s why I’m incredibly proud to have contributed to this special group of young women who earned a 2nd-place conference finish last night. I finished the regular season with 8 goals and 5 assists — ranking top 10 in our league in both categories.
I couldn’t run for more than five minutes at a time and played on a minutes restriction for half the season. I worked one-on-one with a trainer, determined to rebuild my strength, speed, and confidence, even as the pain lingered.
I spent months in physical therapy, relearning how to run and rebuilding the strength I had lost. For a while, I wasn’t sure if I’d ever return to the level I was at back in February. This season started with strict limitations.
