I'm very pleased to share the english translation of my UEFA Pro course thesis, titled "Occupying spaces and positional fluidity: from positional play to associative-relational play": https://t.co/HdMEeepcrO

🥅 Goalscoring: Get in Front
2 forwards in circle, feeders call cone → lead & shoot, partner hunts rebounds.
Prog: each cone = diff finish (roll & flick, reverse, FH, backspace).
Focus: sharp leads, body shape to receive, quick release, react to 2nd phase.
#Hockey
🥅 Zone Rotation (3-ball)
1️⃣ P1 drag R→L, shot from Zone 2/3
2️⃣ P2 carry, early shot top Zone 2
3️⃣ P1 lead rev., shot opp. zone from Ball 1
🔄 Var: Ball 2 wall pass → shot, Ball 3 drag L→R → feed Zone 1 deflection.

@JPR_25 Training: “does anything need to change?”
Players know if the “game” (drill) is working. If they say it is, they have bought in, and applying effort. Sometimes they have said “too big” or such, it’s been valuable input, and we make changes.
@andreuenrich - loving the book so far. The chapter on pitch sizes for games (8v8 -> 4v4 ect) some of the descriptions I’m finding hard to follow. Is there a diagram you can share for those reading the book?
🫨 let’s goooo!!!!! So stoked this arrived. How cool - Andreas himself let me know when it was available in Australia after I couldn’t find it! What a dude. Can’t wait!
@JPR_25 Maddie Hinch spoke about this in your podcast - her warmups are as much mental/decision making as they are physical. She wants decisions, not repetition, when preparing for the game.
@CoachDavidBaird Thanks, David! Just got off the pitch and ran this for an u14 Group (Hockey) I added two goalkeepers, one each end defending both goals (they love the running 😅)
Was very even with it coming down to the last goal each time!
Done something similar - the 4 outside goals were gates and dribbling through them let you attack the two central, back to back goals. 7v7 in a half pitch. Worked ok.
There’s no single way to score in football.
Sometimes, the path to goal is longer.
At the youth level, we should encourage players to explore different, even unpredictable, ways to reach the goal.
This could work for Hockey!
I feel this is an advanced level game.
Thinking you play for periods of time, keep score. Not an easy one, but another twist on multi-directional play.

🅰️Attackers: Combine with neutrals and score in either goal.
🛡️Defenders: Regain possession and pass to their zone to become attackers.
Considerations for this type of thing I’ve found are:
1) if they start doing it well, change it.
2: make passes longer than you “think”. Encourage a hard few steps of ball carrying.
3: after first progression, ask them if it’s working. They will tell you.
Pass/receive: Y progression
3 for 1 'Y' shaped pass/receive patterns. Starting with a very simple 3 pass pattern, each sequence then builds in difficulty, adding an additional pass each time and all ending with a shot on goal.
