@topshelfhkyvids Torts is like that hot girlfriend that is super fun to hang out with but eventually the fun turns into no-fun and you need to move on quickly
@reporterchris I really hope this means the end of Ron Macleans bedtime stories and lame poetic verbal diarrhea, time for a fresh group of intermission talent and hosts
@GinoHard_ I’m not a Marner super fan but he was noticeable in all games trying to produce offence so I believe you could pick Eichel, Stone et al not scoring goals either, regardless, Leafs were worse without Marner, that was not a coincidence
@NHLRumourReport I believe the connection with Reschney and Verhoeff playing on the same college team makes this assumption obvious since the flames had eyes on KV all season, it could be a player drop that benefits the Flames, and the Flames need all the luck they can get
@FlamesNation I really thought Gillies was going to be the next talented & tall American goalie to start for the Flames but somehow he never reached another level, maybe it was the hip surgery, he never looked liked a polished goalie following his AHL experience so may have been a style issue
@wincolumnCGY Unfortunately the Kirkland story as a Flame will probably come to an end unless he signs an AHL deal with the wranglers, the team needs to give ice time to the young centres
@wincolumnCGY I’m ok with signing Olofsson since this team needs goals, the guy runs hot and cold but if signs a short term deal at a low price then go for it, maybe he scores 20 goals and the team can flip him for assets
@wincolumnCGY Lomberg as the 13th forward is fine, but only at $1M, if the team has a younger and bigger version of him that they can plug in play when needed then go that route
@FlamesNation These draft lists for the Flames from the 2000’s sure explain why the team was mediocre for years as just so many bad picks were selected, especially when Sutter was managing the team, which really hurt the future, Burke also screwed the Flames due to his love for truculence
@DarrenWHaynes If Bjorck is the most talented offensive forward left when the Flames pick then they have to consider him, regardless of size and position, the Flames need offence and high motor players, the team has so many picks that they can afford to swing big when the opportunity is there
@FlamesNation Unfortunately none on the list make the Flames a better team but Oloffson has some value since he can score and is a high volume shooter, which are both needed on this team
@Clarkian1900 Makes sense to me, of note, I always worry that Bean will get resigned and could see Beecher sign for the minimum and be used as 4th line centre in and out of the lineup, as needed
@DarrenWHaynes Connie managed the season perfectly, gave some rope at the start, team didn’t have the mix to make the playoffs, sold off vets/bad contracts, stockpiled assets, let the kids play, played the fifth string goalie and team said we are not going down on game 82, not a bad ending
@DarrenWHaynes Great story for Vladdy, he got better every year as a Flame & I always thought he was a good goalie but I didn’t see this season coming, he obviously proved he can handle the pressure & lead a team, I guess the Flames chose a cheaper option in Cooley & that worked out also
@JFreshHockey This was a Burke pick, he loved his big and tough guys with no skill, what a waste of a pick, Burke definitely needs to stay away from the draft table as he is just too bias
