First time crossing into Kenya through Nadapal, and I left disappointed.
Bad roads on the South Sudan side. Cross the border, and suddenly: smooth tarmac.
What exactly are we discussing with Kenya on road connectivity? Kenya has done its part. We haven't even started.
Eish!🤦

Three world records fell in 44 days this summer, and two of them had stood since 1999.
Emmanuel Wanyonyi started it in Monaco on July 10, running 2:11.83 for 1000 meters. Noah Ngeny's mark had lasted 27 years, four of them before Wanyonyi was born.
Eight days later Josh Kerr ran 3:42.66 for the mile in London and took down Hicham El Guerrouj's 3:43.13. Also 1999. Gone in the same eight days.
Then Yomif Kejelcha in Buenos Aires on August 23, 56:51 for the half marathon, 29 seconds quicker than anyone in history.
Two marks from the last century erased in a week and a half, then a modern one erased a month later. And the season is not over.

A trader at Burma Market noticed them first. Birds that did not belong; loud, dark, unfamiliar, working the stalls the way pigeons work a park bench. He chased them off and did not think much more of them. Then someone took a photograph, and that photograph landed on the desks of conservationists who had been dreading this exact moment for years. The Indian House Crow, one of the most destructive invasive birds anywhere in the world, has reached Nairobi. #Earthwise https://t.co/dSBcpj2LEt
