@Isobel_waby@Tiger911494404 It was. Autopsy in part published along with pictures in Paris Match - it definitely wasn’t a body-double. (full written autopsy can be found in Gordon Thomas&Martin Dillon’s Israel’s Superspy book).
@according2_taz I do agree HOWEVER from a PR/Royal family perspective he should have sucked it up. He should understand there is no sympathy for his plight & laid low for another couple of years. I can’t shake the feeling it’s a coordinated attack SS/Yorks/Spencer. All very conveniently timed.
Thames Valley Police has accepted warrants to search Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's properties in Windsor, England, were unlawful https://t.co/hTfI1HGt1m
@Cave__Cowboy@Mary_0nx It was a horrible outcome, but most of the money was used to keep the business going. He should have admitted liquidity issues &ask the creditors for a restructure, but he was too proud to do that. He sold Pergamon in March &floated the Mirror Group in April. It wasn’t enough.
@codemon18429317@Mary_0nx His general behaviour was outrageous. The shit this man got up to was insane - both negative and positive. Casting him as the cartoon-villain due to his last failed attempt to save his empire and life’s work is a mistake. I hope history will judge you only by your good deeds. 😅
@codemon18429317@Mary_0nx Also how can you say “at any point in time”? There are countless more disgusting events in the history of humanity you should be more outraged about if judged by today’s standards. Even today there are a lot worse things than what he did 35 years ago…
@codemon18429317@Mary_0nx As I’ve said everybody did it - he has done it multiple times and repaid the loans. He had every reason to believe with his inflated ego&succession pattern that he will be able to repay it again AND keep the jobs of the people he employed as the company would have survived.
@codemon18429317@Mary_0nx They were joint MDs but part of their defence was that they didn’t know. It was amoral, so were another million businessman at the time. You can’t judge history by today’s standards. If RM lived he would have negotiated his way out of it. No creditor wants a default of this size.
@codemon18429317@Mary_0nx Actually what he did was legal, his sons were not convicted & that’s why the pension act of 1995 was passed. His employees stated it wasn’t the first time he used the pension as security against loans and he always put the money back. His fatal mistake was MacMillan+recession.
@Mary_0nx The interviewer said bitter blow and he wouldn’t have said “indeed” if he wasn’t responded to that specific statement with the same words.
Bitter blow is a tragedy but also can’t see how he was different from any of the venture capitalists of today.
@AsACyclist@fesshole You don’t know what they call about at any given moment. The next call could be the emergency. Also he could just man up and ask his wife to draw some boundaries and communicate clearly what their private time is and only to call during that period if there is an emergency.
