Phenomenal results from Brett Cumming’s organic relay.
This is my 10,000 ft view of the choice farmers are going to make in the next decade.
Technology…whether we’re talking GMO or organic will continue.
You can buy another herbicide trait… like mesotrione/dicamba/24d stacks…keep doing what you’ve always done but fight the natural evolution nature is doing every year… look at what Roundup kills anymore. Used to be everything, now it’s just grass. Fall into the hands of multinational corporations with the ever ratcheting control.
You can buy a laser with eyes for organic and keep growing 1 crop. Cool tech… but needs a 1 crop and dirt to work.
It will get more and more expensive… creating more bondage and reliance on the tech
OR
You can use natural system think to eliminate the need to need the tech.
System think is the only way to keep your independence… and be able to farm 500-2000 acres and make a good living.
At the same time… ideas and equipment in this realm will stay under the radar because it doesn’t serve the farmers of farmers. Universities don’t get funded for resourcefulness. Resourcefulness take the “markets” that nature provides
Sun, water, plants, animals, time, sequencing, perception, expression, canopy, thatch, carbon and creates more margin through omission and another level of productivity.
It’s exciting to see all these ripples of #farmweird show up across the world.
People taking a concept and putting their own spin on it. Bottom up instead of top down is the only path towards independence
@BTrue99861187@apasztor82 Define progress. Keep in mind Grandpa’s dirt bought and paid for a lot of other dirt. Once you realize farmers are being farmed more than they are farming, mindset changes.
@jasonmauck1 You’re right on the money. Pin intended. It’s a complete system, right from schools on down. Big Ag has to keep the noise level really high so that folks don’t hear someone like you. Low input ag is the future. It scares the hell out of them.
@RealAlexJones This also changes the Expropriation Act allowing gov to fast track expropriation with little to no recourse for landowners. Totally destroys private property rights. Being used to take land to put in taxpayer funded $90-120B high speed railway.
@farmerschneck It needs a diverse cover crop with some penetrating species in order to break up the obvious compaction. Keeping water on and into the land should be the objective. Pushing organic matter up via cover crop will help increase water holding capacity. 1% gives you 20,000 gal/acre
@SandraCobena_ Keep up the great work. Although you are constantly being met with non answers and deflection, please keep holding the government to account.
@dsimieritsch Really enjoy you content. Need you to dig into the ALTO project and the HSR corridor they are planning from Ottawa to Montreal. There must be a Brookfield connection here with how fast they are trying to expedite this project.
@AaronMartinka If the situation was reversed and it was garbage from his property going on to yours, how would you want him to deal with it? Now do what you’d want him to do. Pick it up.
