US Army Vet John H. Weng proudly served as a Sergeant in the Vietnam War from 1968-1969. Specifically, John was with the 22nd Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division. He was a member of the Ohio Patriot Guard Riders, escorting Veterans as they left for deployments, returned from service, and escorting and standing for Veterans’ funerals and burials. Participating in Patriot Guard missions to honor other veterans was truly an important part of his life after his military service.
Most of his career following his military service was spent as Senior Captain in the Crown Equipment Corp. Flight Department, New Bremen, OH. He took the time to visit the Vietnam War Memorial upon its completion and loved that these Vietnam Veterans were finally being so deservedly and respectfully honored. He also visited the Traveling Vietnam War Memorial in Sidney, OH, where he found the names of his fellow friends/Veterans who died in Vietnam.
John Weng, 66, died on Sunday December 8, 2013 from complications of a service-connected disability from his service in Vietnam.
He will ALWAYS be loved and greatly missed EVERY DAY by his family and friends. As for his family, we have and will continue to fly our American Flag in their honor EVERY DAY.
