The Members of the County Assembly of Kisii who are on their recess will this morning hold a Special Sitting at the Assembly Chambers to deliberate on issues as shown in the attached Kenya Gazette Notice.

The days theme this year is "Education to protect Moral" and the organisers are seeking to inform policy markers on the need to invest on education in diabetes management.

The screening services started at 9.00am and will run throughout the day.

Kisii county marks this years diabetes with a hype of activities at the Kisii County Assembly Precincts.

To mark the day, the ministry of health is offering free screening of non communicable diseases to members of public.

Hon. Dolifine Bwari Nyabuto is the Nyanza region representative in the County Assemblies Forum-CAF.
The nominated MCA was elected to represent the six county assemblies that form the Nyanza Cluster.
She will represent and champion members welfare in assemblies umbrella body.

The Kisii County nominee for Finance, Economic Planning and ICT (E-Government) Services Kennedy Okemwa Abincha takes oath before the Committee on Appointments.

The County Assembly Committee on Appointments Chaired by the Speaker Hon Dr. Philip Nyanumba has started vetting of CEC this morning at ATC. First to appear before the Committee is Leah Bwari Ogega, the nominee for Medical Services, Public Health and Sanitation.

Kisii County Assembly's Committee on Appointments under the chairmanship of Speaker Hon Dr Phillip Nyanumba will Friday 4th Nov 2022 vet the CEC members for Kisii County Government at Kisii ATC as from 8.00am.
Members of the public are invited to witness the exercise.

The County Assembly Service Board (CASB) is in charge of running the day activities of the Assembly.
The Board is fully constituted once two members, a man and a woman representing the public.

COUNTY ASSEMBLY SERVICE BOARD

The new Kisii County Assembly Service Board took shape this afternoon after the new Board chair, the Assembly Speaker Hon Dr Phillip Nyanumba and the two Board members representing Majority and Minority took Oath of Office.

The Speaker took oath before the Board secretary, the Assembly Clerk Mr. James Nyaoga. Thereafter, the honourable Speaker administered the oath to other Members, Hon James Ondari representing Majority and Hon Lilian Gor representing Minority.

MASHUJAA DAY

The Honorable Speaker Hon Philip Machuki Nyanumba joins the Governor H.E. Hon. Simba Arati and the Deputy Governor H.E. Dr. Robert Monda in a jig as the county marked the 59th Mashujaa Day at Gusii Stadium, Kisii.

The Assembly Speaker Hon Dr. Phillip Nyanumba, Members of the County Assembly and the Clerk joined H.E. the Governor Hon Simba Arati and other leaders in marking this year's Mashujaa Day celebrations at Gusii Stadium.

Hon. Bagaka becomes the third Deputy Speaker of the County Assembly. The election was presided over by the Speaker, Hon Dr. Phillip Nyanumba.

DEPUTY SPEAKER
Kisii County Assembly MCAs have elected Hon. Jacob Barongo Bagaka, as the Deputy Speaker for the this Third Assembly.

Hon. Bagaka who represents the People of Masige West Ward from Bobasi sub-county garnered 58 votes against his competitor Hon. Wycliff Gesongori Siocha of Ichuni Ward who managed 12 votes.

The Minority Whip will be deputized by Hon Jeremiah Obwogi Ongeri of PDP (MCA Majoge Basi Ward) and Hon Nicodemus Willy Omwamba of KNC (MCA Boochi Borabu Ward).
