Breast milk does not spoil inside the breast. If a mother has not breastfed or expressed milk for two days, she can generally resume breastfeeding. However, her milk supply may have decreased, and her breasts may feel full or uncomfortable. #WBW2026
“Exclusive breastfeeding provides essential nutrients for a child’s brain development while supporting the mother’s body to naturally recover after childbirth.”

Today, we kick off #WorldBreastfeedingWeek 2026! 💕 We couldn’t be happier to have spent yesterday with mothers from our communities in Uganda, in partnership with @ATTABreastmilk, advancing safe breastmilk access for mothers in underserved communities.

“For the first time in years, I feel like there is much more in me than I thought.”
One mother shared this after a confidential counseling session at our Nzuno Capacity Building Class.
When a mother finds inner strength, an entire household is restored. 💜
We had an incredible time with our Mother Peer Leaders during their courtesy call to our offices in Kisasi, Kampala.
As we commemorate Heroes Day in Uganda, we celebrate your role in restoring hope. You are the true heroes, driving impact and restoring hope in communities!
Kitibwa’s heart is in the community. Our CEO @shaminahtalija spent time with our mothers listening, sharing, and building together.
True transformation happens close, not from a distance.

One filled backpack brings relief to a mother and hope for brighter future.
Education is one of the keys to breaking cycles of poverty.
Kitibwa, through the Asome Bags of Hope Initiative is paving a path for a brighter future.
Thank you for standing with us and keeping children in school. You are the reason behind these precious smiles.❤️
Girls belong in school every day of the month. ❤️
Kitibwa is donating dignity kits to girls from vulnerable families, with each kit containing 4 reusable sanitary towels, a knicker, and 2 small sanitary bags for each girl.
Join this campaign and help keep girls in school.
For many vulnerable children, the barrier to education isn’t a lack of talent, it’s a lack of tools.
We are changing that.
Be the reason a child believes their dream is possible by filling back packs with dignity and the essentials for success.
A single backpack can be the difference between a child staying in school or dropping out.
Inside every Asome Bags of Hope backpack, a child finds scholastic materials and the realization that someone, somewhere, believes in them.
Help us restore hope one bag at a time.
We have met students who share a single pencil between three siblings at the beginning of the term.
At Kitibwa we are striving to change this. By filling a backpack you gift a child their seat back in the classroom.
Help us keep those seats filled.
As we prepare to start the new school term in Uganda, stand with us to support vulnerable mothers, filling their children’s backpacks with the tools needed to stay in school for a brighter future.🤩
Join our Asome Bags of Hope Campaign today! 📚🎒
Every Friday, mothers are gathering not just to save, but to build.
With structure, financial literacy, and shared accountability, “small” ideas are becoming strategic businesses.
Mothers don’t lack vision, they need tools to grow; when mothers rise, communities rise.
Mothers always have the ideas and energy to succeed; Kitibwa provides the tools. 🛠️
Thanks to our Vulnerable Scholarship & Disability Inclusion programs, Viola’s son Clayton is thriving in school. Now, Viola can focus on growing her poultry business and her future!
Single-mother households face poverty at twice the global average. One setback, a health crisis or missed work, can destabilize everything.
No mother should carry this alone. Through Mobile Health and Socio-Economic support, we’re restoring dignity and hope.
Stand with us.✊
Mothers manage household health, nutrition & education, but if they lack agency, poverty persists.
At Kitibwa, we are empowering them through a holistic approach: Socio-Economic Empowerment, Education, Health & Disability Inclusion.
Investing in her = breaking the cycle.
