@EMSimmonsAuthor I once dreamt an entire story from start to finish, then woke up the next day and wrote it all out in one draft. Never has writing a story been so easy! At the time I was travelling and at high altitude. Wondering if that affected it. I called it ‘Balloons’ which seemed fitting.

I’ve always thought that exercise is a great way to freshen up your brain before sitting down to work. Each type has a slightly different effect on how you feel, but I have come to realise nothing works quite as well as yoga for creative work, where a “flow” is needed. #amwriting
@ToddHerzman I am dyslexic so learning to enjoy reading took a long time. But I distinctly remember Northern Lights by Philip Pullman being the first book I didn’t have to fight my way through.
Has anyone ever tried to use #lucidDreaming to enhance their writing? I’ve recently started learning to lucid dream, and have been trying to use it to explore the characters and world I am writing about. So far I’m mainly getting distracted by flying and walking through walls.
This morning I got on the rush hour tube, while listening to Nessun Dorma. For 5 minutes I felt an overwhelming euphoria and love. It seemed like every second was a cosmic tragedy and triumph wrapped into one. Solid start to a Friday. Highly recommended. #Fridayfeeling
When I learned to teach English as a second language a few years ago, I realised just how little I knew about the rules the language. The process of making all the unconscious rules conscious, is a laborious one.

Wonderful quote. Though i can think of a few things that may be worse. Crucifixion for example. #amwriting#writing#LitFic#amreading
@WendyConstance@charliemorley1 Supposedly the body is paralysed during the dream phase of sleep. Though, I remember my dad once hitting my mum in the face in his sleep, then claimed he was “defending a white owl” in this dream. I suppose everyone is different 🦉...
Have just completed a fascinating and very useful workshop on sleep and dreaming with @charliemorley1. Fun fact - all mammals dream apart from anteaters... (not the most applicable fact of the day, but I like it.) Thank you Charlie!
