Something I find incredibly funny about some of the Umamusume girls throwing themselves at their trainer is that some high school kids absolutely DO act like that towards teachers they like.

two which vividly stick out in my mind are an 11th grader who said his goal after graduating was to visit his primary school to date his teacher, and a girl who called my colleague a MILF while telling her friends which teachers she thought were the hottest.

Even after choosing to pull Sandrone and not HATING her quest, it's a lot weaker than Wanderer's was despite them sharing many of the same tropes.

If anything, the way he turned out is much more understandable compared to how nasty she became after Alain died.

Thinking about it more, I wonder if some of the CN backlash towards Wanderer on his release scared HYV into toning down Arlecchino and Sandrone.

I genuinely don't think Columbina was negatively affected (we barely knew anything about her), but Sandrone and Arlecchino DID have negative actions hinted or outright mentioned which the story then ignored or downplayed in favour of their good traits.

whoever is right about the Knight's identity will be absolutely insufferable about it, and there's bound to be people who got it wrong saying Toby went for a bad twist/cliche/whatever when they're really just upset about being wrong.

This is going to sound cynical, but with how aggressive this fandom tends to get insisting their theories are "basically canon", people will be very annoying regardless of whether they were right or wrong.

I finally got Smart Falcon, and on my first run with her, she won the Satsuki Sho by five lengths AND got the hot spring ticket.

It was a teen oriented time block just before the station's end of service hours. Definitely not airing a time where little kids would accidentally watch it.

bro just lying, it not only aired in its entirety, it had reruns in rotation with Ouran High School Host Club, Vampire Knight, and Fruits Basket on the 8:30pm anime block.

There was a short period where they were playing this on the public kids TV channel in Australia before they stopped at like episode 3 or 4 after getting complaints.

Though the biggest surprise for me was learning afterwards that John Leguizamo played a significant part and for once, I did not immediately register him as Sid the Sloth 🤣

I watched The Odyssey with my dad and sisters today.

Wasn't a huge fan of some writing decisions + overall story direction, but it's visually stunning and the acting was pretty good.

I was impressed with Tom Holland as Telemachus. I'm not super familiar with his work (saw one Spiderman movie with some friends and wasn't too impressed), but he played the character really well alongside the more experienced cast.

I'm all for exaggerating character traits for jokes, but it's a little annoying when people's memories fade and they insist the exaggerated joke is actually canon =w=

I think some Avatar fans have taken the joke about Zuko being a terrible firebender too far and ended up mistaking it for actual canon.

It's tough because he's getting compared to his prodigy friends + sister, but Zuko was much stronger than most firebenders from the start. He had a lot of raw power that could cover his weak fundamentals early on, which was something he dealt with over the series.
