Look at the difference in colour between Hagrid and Pixie, even though they’re both tabby’s, Hagrid favours dark and silver tones where Pixies colours are diluted to brown and cream - there’s that dilution gene popping up again!

Phoenix is starting to really show her lilac and peachy/creamy markings now, (check out her peachy toes face and the little patch on her back) genetically this is onown as a double dilution, as opposed to Hedwig who’s leaning towards silver and blue shades of grey, which is dilute!

Both the mother and father must have been carrying the reccessive genes in this case (but don’t forget each kitten in this litter could technically have had different fathers).
In Lunas case it’s quite easy to see that she is a very chocolatey brown (dilute) as opposed to black.

Let’s see what happens though, because my last set of kittens (Bellatrix etc) were born dilute and then gradually darkened as they got older and I’m already seeing that here, as Hedwig and Hagrid are darker now than when they were born 🐾
