We look at people’s past because it draws a picture of their present.

People can change their minds, yes.

But when you are in a position of authority, and you do a 180, the very next thing that you need to do is step down from power because you obviously have a bad judgment.

If you don’t step down from power, then it looks like you’re just another politician who flip-flops when they get which way the wind is blowing.
