@JakeCan72 Does his mother intend to punish him for leaving campus without permission? Anyway, since he chose to participate in a protest he should have simply followed all the other students. I mean…..come on. 😂
@educator4ever36 I used to have students who weren’t even on my caseload just waltz right into my office — during class time — and open with “you got any snacks?” 1) I’m not even your counselor, 2) why aren’t you in class and 3) any food I have is for me.
@DeplorableEdD@teachthemx3 I’m a counselor. In my experience, admin will often direct the counselor to be the one to communicate admin’s plans/“orders.” I always insist that it’s inappropriate for me to give a teacher a directive and insist that the admin needs to do it themselves.
@LagerthaMuadDib@CollinRugg Probably trying to get a better sense of how serious or imminent the threat was, depending on what exactly was said. But yeah, better safe than sorry. Lock it down, sort it out later.
@KammyCakes24@SandraBoyett4@CollinRugg They may not have known about the FBI thing since that was outside of school (Discord). We receive discipline records from the prior school, but the FBI thing may not have been handled through school.
@AlanLevinovitz I’m a high school counselor. You are 100% correct. Not only do we codify avoidant coping in 504 plans (ex. for anxiety), we excuse behaviors if any cultural/trauma/poverty/mental health connection can be made to the behavior. We’re making it worse.
Norfolk Southern cut 9,600 jobs and boosted shareholder payouts by 4,500% in the years leading up to the Ohio train disaster.
Folks, this is what corporate greed looks like.
@_noncompliant_ @kelcsimpkins Same, and I am starting to just crash. For a while it felt like a huge struggle to manage normal functioning but I was hanging on by my fingers. Now I feel like my fingers are slipping off the edge.
@JoJoFromJerz I have restless leg syndrome off during the PMS window. Cute knee-high compression socks REALLY help with that. The answer is to sleep in *just* socks and stick my feet out from under the covers. Perfection.
“Mayor Frey, what you just did was the most heartless shit ever."
The Quarry encampment in Northeast Minneapolis was evicted during a large-scale police operation on Dec. 30. Former resident Nate said all of his & his girlfriend’s possessions were trashed by the authorities. 🧵
My dad died on Christmas Eve. He waited for an ambulance for 3 hours before it was too late. He was only 58. I’ve fought my whole life to stop this kind of thing from happening. I admit defeat. It’s over. We’ve lost. The Tories have what they wanted.
Crying over breakfast. This is so important. Not just for me but the future of my family and youth in the community. Thank you for RT to spread the word.
