@DeplorableEdD @teachthemx3 I’m a counselor. In my experience, admin will often direct the counselor to be the one to communicate admin’s plans/“orders.” I always insist that it’s inappropriate for me to give a teacher a directive and insist that the admin needs to do it themselves.

@AlanLevinovitz I’m a high school counselor. You are 100% correct. Not only do we codify avoidant coping in 504 plans (ex. for anxiety), we excuse behaviors if any cultural/trauma/poverty/mental health connection can be made to the behavior. We’re making it worse.
