Official Update: We have been alerted by a dedicated @billieeilish supporter that the "Tongva Times" has been maliciously slandering our name through the spread of false information. We must reiterate: unless a statement originates from our official channels, it is meritless.

For too long, our culture and heritage have been exploited for personal gain. The very name "Tongva" is a colonial construct—a label manufactured and forced upon us by modern-day colonizers, frauds, and "pretendians." We will no longer allow our identity to be dictated by those who seek to profit from our history.

We extend our deepest gratitude to those sharing this post and standing with Billie Eilish’s message. We encourage everyone to remain vigilant and continue speaking their truth.

later died at San Juan Bautista and is buried in an unmarked grave. She still inspires her descendants the Kizh
