In his dying days my mum who cared for him for 31 years knew him well enough to know that if he's howling in pain for 2 days straight, it would be more humane to end his suffering earlier rather than later.

This happened with my brother and I wish they administered the drugs a lot sooner so he didn't have to suffer for so long. I'm baffled as to why there's so many people who are happy to let people suffer at the end of life.
