"Rather than seeing social security as a burden, we should see it as an investment that underpins good mental health, both now and into the future." My article for Transforming Society on planned changes to disability benefits and the impact on mental health.
Katie Pybus, author of 'Fairer Welfare Systems for Better Mental Health', shows how planned cuts to #DisabilityBenefits risk worsening #MentalHealth and #Poverty, highlighting the need for a more compassionate, evidence-based social security system.

Kim from @changing_r:
The most important step the chancellor can take next week is to uprate benefits in line with inflation.
Flat rate and one-off payments must be replaced by proper uprating that reflects families' needs.
"We shouldn't have to fight so hard to survive."
“Now more than ever, I’m really losing sleep over worrying about money” - @changing_r parents describe how the cost of living crisis is far from over.
The Chancellor should, at the very least, ensure benefits catch up with inflation next week. @CPAGUK
