“…And I’m just happy to be at the table.”
And I’ll be happy when Carrie Coon walks on stage in September to collect her (long overdue) Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for The White Lotus. A stunning monologue that reaffirmed her status as the queen of HBO.
I rarely address the acting upfront in my film reviews (I think the last time was Denzel in The Tragedy of Macbeth) but Robert Pattinson’s gonzo, fearless work in Mickey 17 warrants an exception. An excerpt from my review (I probably could’ve written a whole piece on it):
We're still recovering (and writing) but @_heylarry_ , @Kkantro, and @bywillbjarnar and I came together to walk through our TIFF standouts, mine being The Brutalist, Hard Truths, and All of You. Our full highlights for @GeekVibesNation are here: https://t.co/gSbsp1sDm4
Daniel Radcliffe pays tribute to the late Maggie Smith:
“She was a fierce intellect, a gloriously sharp tongue, could intimidate and charm in the same instant and was, as everyone will tell you, extremely funny… I will always consider myself amazingly lucky to have been able to work with her, and to spend time around her on set. The word legend is overused but if it applies to anyone in our industry then it applies to her. Thank you Maggie.”
