So grateful to everyone who’s joined me on this incredible journey - esp @paulramchandani and peeps at @PEDALCam@CamEdFac, and to @DrJennyG and @natashajcabrera for being such engaging and encouraging examiners. And the biggest love to the best famjam ever 💜
@MasalaBai PS, the field you’re considering is one where, like my field (education/psychology), your personal and professional experience will be a huge advantage. I remember loving talking to my older peers about their experiences and gaining so much more perspective.
@MasalaBai Not a single mum with a young child, but happy to share my PhD experience and answer any questions if it’ll help. Doing a PhD can be amazing, but it will definitely be a significant decision. Feel free to dm me :)
@ganeshsonawane Pune-based, small-built, maandi ghaaloon working woman here 🙋🏻♀️ moooreeee than happy to test this, esp as I’m setting up my new office space and am looking for a good chair for myself. Most office chairs aren’t built for our body type, so this feels like a good option 🤞🏼
Someone just sent this to me because this is exactly what https://t.co/WcSEF2oqeg does!
There’s so much (noise) available for children, but not enough to help parents navigate through it.
I’m drawing on my PhD, personal, and professional experience to👇🏼
Met a 65yo aspiring entrepreneur this week. A grandmom to four kids who wants to solve a problem most in this current generation maybe facing. This is the first message she sent. And then I met her.
Her problem statement: In India every minute 51 babies are born. That means 26,805,600 couples become parent every year. That's 26.8 million couples. Parenting is not a skill that is taught and is a stressful journey for the first 5 years. Especially for working couples with no support.
Solution: A therapy/counselling service just focused on new parents. They are stressed and confused most of the time. They need someone to guide them and tell what not to do than what to do.
Her competitive edge : Mother to three and grandmom to four kids. I can’t create an app but can attempt to create mindful parents. This is what she said :)
Being an entrepreneur late in life can be a superpower. Because you've outlived the fads and fanciness. Now, it's all about substance and genuine awareness. Experience and wisdom are the dividends of a well-lived life.
provide parents with personalised, context-aware, research-backed parenting support. The goal is to make parents feel heard, and ultimately less stressed and more confident.
Would love to have a chat to learn more about this lady and maybe even connect with her!
@varunkhona Congratulations!! 💯 to the top tip - take care of your wife as she takes care of the newborn. Then, be an active partner who jumps right in - don’t wait to be told where “help” is needed. It helps to know routines, preferences, and challenges to really share the load. Good luck!
