A group of Ghanaian youth has called out landlords and landladies across the country for demanding rent advance payments exceeding six months, contrary to the provisions of Ghana’s Rent Control laws.
According to them, the high cost of renting in Ghana has become unbearable, as tenants are often forced to raise huge sums to cover one or two years’ advance payments, a practice they say violates the law.
