@GingerAaron I would’ve spent at least a semester traveling/studying abroad. Also, I may have told myself to start at a JuCo so I could keep playing ball a little longer.
@GingerAaron Light, fun read to end summer “Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk” by Kathleen Rooney and “Answering Why” by Mark C. Perna for my professional development for my Advisory class
@GingerAaron I like to ask students what activities they’ve enjoyed in other classes. I also like online resources, following #PhysEd community, reading JOPERD
@GingerAaron I would love to spend some time reviewing all of my units. We are adopting a new bell schedule next year so I will need to adapt my pacing schedule.
@CoachMatheson I used to do resolutions but now I prefer selecting a #oneword to guide my year. I like this better as I pick a word that will help me with a daily mindset versus trying to achieve or maintain a resolution.
@GingerAaron Yes I have an option for song suggestions in our getting to know you form and then I take ongoing verbal requests or via a Google form throughout the year to keep it fresh. I tell them they have to be school appropriate. I love getting introduced to music I might it listen to
@trentsuzuki@JaredRagoPE@BolgersPowerPE Agree! Relationships first. When students know you care about them as individuals the rest will be easier (not always easy but you will have more commitment from your students). Network with other teachers, keep your sense of humor, have a solid plan but be flexible.
