I will have to try that! My family always peeled it, cooked it on the stove with peeled potatoes in boiling water. (Potatoes came in the last part because it took a while to soften the rutabaga.) when finished, mashed all together with real butter, salt and pepper to taste and yum, yum, yummy! A good side dish for Thanksgiving.

This selection does not appear to be an appropriate choice for the winners of Rock the Block. Did they not notice the large room with the drapes? As The Property Brothers said, it looks sloppy! I genuinely believe that Kim and Chelsea should not have been declared the winners. Any of the other three homes could have reasonably been awarded the top prize, and I would have been more satisfied with any of those options. However, I do not believe Kim and Chelsea’s home was deserving of the victory. I found the circus like room unappealing, as well as the prime bedroom. Their bathroom featured a non-functional fireplace and a tub right near the bathroom vanities, with an armor plate on the wall. (Was Joan of Arc nearby?) I also disapproved of the large banquette with the tiny chairs and the drapes extending down the hallway. The most concerning aspect was the circus-like room with drapes on the ceiling—an unconventional design choice that suggests a lack of professional judgment. Although I liked their backyard, it was insufficient to warrant winning the competition. The reason for their victory remains unclear. Scooby-Doo, get the Mystery Machine because we’ve got a huge mystery to solve on the TV show Rock the Block in Las Vegas!
