@oldfarmhorace@RossLeBrun@dolphy2070492 Alternatively the government could stop subsidizing motor vehicles and tax them an extra ยฃ3000 per year to make up for the shortfall.
@RossLeBrun @guyplum @VoteforChangeGG@RossLeBrun Iโm suggesting you actually go and do it. I feel it will give you a better feel for the issues rather than just hypothesizing.
@RossLeBrun @guyplum @VoteforChangeGG New cars come with speed limiters which are enabled by default.
Home and E&I just need to have the b*lls to make it illegal to disable them.
Then make it compulsory to fit a speed limiter if caught speeding in an older car or get a significant penalty if deliberately disabled.
@RossLeBrun @guyplum @VoteforChangeGG You say you could ride at 20mph, but do you. When was the last time you rode on that path at 20mph for any distance? What happened when you encountered pedestrians?
@RossLeBrun @guyplum @VoteforChangeGG 20mph may be fine on roads, but not on cycle paths.
Itโs unreasonable to expect pedestrians to be comfortable with e-bikes passing them on the east-coast path at that speed.
(Sports cyclists traveling at high speeds tend to stay on the road)
@guyplum @RossLeBrun@VoteforChangeGG When Iโm cycling Iโm on a journey.
If your journey is more important Iโll pull over, because I will hear the siren or see the blue flashing light.
@VoteforChangeGG@RossLeBrun I suggest you read the Highway code hierarchy of road users.
Not aware of any pedestrians causing vehicle drivers to be hospitalised
@watsoncomedian Guernsey, because youโre not high profile enough to justify the ยฃ200 air fare to go and see you, but I could stretch to ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ1.50 for the bus.
Oh, and you can stock up on duty frees on your way back
@GuernseyPress I believe the press standards expect RTCโs to be described better than this.
โThere were no other parties involved apart from the MOTORIST and the pedestrian โ
Would be better.
A car is not a โpartyโ.
