If AI helps us publish faster, will it also help us listen better?
That’s one question I’m carrying into the next 50 years of PR.
I’m excited that my contribution, “PR in the Next 50 Years,” will feature in PRAU’s 50th anniversary magazine.
My vision for Uganda’s PR profession is ambitious: shaping decisions, influencing policy and building relationships that organisations can depend on.
Better technology will give us possibilities. Our ethics and judgement will determine what we do with them.
In 2076, trust will still have to be earned.
What do you hope our profession will have outgrown by then?

For years, I called my work development communications. At COP2026, I discovered that much of it is programme communications. In this first lesson, I share what helped me understand the distinction and why it matters in our everyday work. https://t.co/oEpulJ8kMg

Are you the kind of communications practitioner who joins a new organisation and immediately starts thinking: What can I change? What can I create? How do we reach more people?
I’ve been that person. 😅
But during the two-day Communications Community of Practice organized by @MastercardFdn I was reminded that reach alone does not tell us whether our communication has made a difference.
Before we design the next campaign, we need to listen. What do the young people we hope to reach already know? What matters to them? What are they telling us that our plans have missed?
I came into that room with my notebook ready for ideas. I left with a question I’ll carry into my work:
Are we communicating with people, or simply finding new ways to speak to them?
I have plenty more from those two days to share. My hand is still recovering from taking notes. 😂@ckasujja@DamaliMukhaye@digimaxagency
Being quiet while someone speaks does not always mean you are listening.
Sometimes, you are simply waiting for your turn to respond.
Before you respond, pause and ask:
“Have I understood you correctly?” https://t.co/k0fpJqsvem
A beautiful poster cannot rescue a strategy that was never connected to its audience.
I share why communication deserves a seat at the strategy table. 👇🏾 https://t.co/D2eOggXbBs
Visibility is not the same as impact.
You can post every day, attend every event and be on every platform and still not be understood.
Good communication isn’t about making more noise.
It’s about being seen, understood, trusted and remembered.
That takes strategy.
Communicate with purpose. Create real impact.

Millions depend on agriculture for their livelihoods.
So why can someone spend a lifetime producing food and remain poor?
That is the food-systems question we must confront.
At #FSIS2026, we are pushing the conversation from production to prosperity.
#NoPoverty#FoodSystems
What will it take to achieve Zero Hunger?
More food production alone is not enough.
At AAIN, we aim to strengthen agribusiness incubation & support young people to turn agricultural skills & ideas into viable enterprises that create income & contribute to stronger food systems.

In the schools we support, we empower boys just as much as we do girls, addressing the critical issues they face.
