@Noahpinion A good way to phrase this is that in cities with 8%+ sales (which is any big city), the county and state take 2x more than the actual company who sold the item.
If the extent of your valuation technique is dividing the company value by its revenue you are lost because no one who matters in finance cares about backwards looking P/E ratio. A stock’s value comes from its future possible cash flows not its current revenue or profit. I’ll throw you a bone though.
