3. “In a minute”
- Not immediately. Possibly not today.
4. “A bit warm”
- The steering wheel is melting.
5. “Bit chilly”
- Anything below 20°C.
6. “Not far”
- Pack snacks and fill the petrol tank.
7. “Around the corner”
- There may be several corners.
8. “I’ll be there shortly”
- I haven’t left the house yet.
9. “Just one drink”
- No reliable measurement currently exists.
10. “Not bad”
- This is the highest form of Australian praise.
Happy Wattle Day!
Wattle Day is a day of celebration in Australia on the first day of September each year, which is the start of spring. This is the time when many Acacia species (commonly called wattles in Australia) are in flower.
Where are you standing when you stand back to look at your life?
And how do you know that's the best place to stand back to…to look at your life?
See, what we do is we are basically moving from our everyday perspective to another perspective we have learned:
We've learned it from other people, or we've learned it from our culture.
But how do you know that this perspective is actually a really good one for you...from which you should stand to reflect back upon your everyday life?
How would you know that you have properly oriented to all the needs that you do need to address?
What if you have a need or meaning in a powerful way that is constitutive of the very way you're an agent (or a self) or a person…which is not getting addressed?
Perspective changes everything.
If you ask the grass, the zebra is the monster and the lion is the protector.
The truth is, no one is the villain in every story, and no one is the hero in every story. We judge people from the side we stand on but every side has its own truth.
