A wild forest fire in the hills of #Kasauli on 26 May threatened the heritage precincts of Kasauli Cantonment.

Under the close supervision and proactive guidance of Commander, #VictoryForCertain Bde, a swift and synergised firefighting response was launched, involving troops of the #VictoryForCertain Bde, Air Force Station Kasauli, Cantonment Board Kasauli and Civil Fire Tenders.

For over 16 hours, ground columns battled the flames along Gilbert Trail, Shourya Marg and adjoining areas, preventing further spread and safeguarding critical heritage zones. The air effort by #IndianAirForce Mi-17 helicopters, through effective Bambi Bucket sorties, proved decisive in containing the blaze.

All personnel and equipment are safe. No loss of civilian or combatant life has been reported. Firefighting operations continue till the fire is fully extinguished.

Scaling the world’s highest peak with unmatched courage and determination, BSF’s first ever All Women Mt. Everest Expedition Team has scripted history under #MissionVandeMataram by successfully summiting Mt. Everest.

The BSF’s First all women mountaineering team comprising of Constable Kouser Fatima
from Ladakh, Constable Munmun Ghosh from West Bengal, Constable Rabeka Singh from Uttarakhand and Constable Tsering Chorol from Kargil, successfully summited the Mt Everest (8848.86 M) at 8 AM (IST) today.

Celebrating the BSF Diamond Jubilee Year, the Mahila Seema Praharis carried the spirit of ‘Vande Mataram’ to the top of the world. At an altitude where most people require oxygen support and even standing upright is a challenge, they sang Vande Mataram in one unwavering voice - creating a historic milestone that reflects the strength, resilience and indomitable spirit of Nari Shakti.

This extraordinary achievement stands as a proud symbol of women empowerment, national pride and the BSF’s steadfast commitment to excellence.

Another Proud Moment for the BSF

Commemorating its Diamond Jubilee Year, the Border Security Force Mt. Lhotse Expedition Team - five determined climbers, successfully summited the world’s fourth-highest peak, Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), on 23 May 2026 at about 05:20 AM IST.

Just hours after BSF’s Veeranganas unfurled glory on Mt. Everest, BSF’s men scripted another historic triumph on Mt. Lhotse. Two monumental summits in 48 hours.
Two teams standing atop two of the world’s tallest mountains.
One invincible spirit of the Force.

This back-to-back achievement reflects the extraordinary courage, discipline and resolve that define the BSF.

In a tragic incident on 30 Apr 2026, a cruise boat carrying tourists capsized in the Bargi Dam reservoir near Khamariya Island, #Jabalpur following sudden strong winds and adverse weather conditions.

Responding promptly to a request from civil administration, the #MadhyaBharatArea launched immediate #HADR operations in close coordination with #NDRF and #SDRF teams. Medical support was extended at Military Hospital, #Jabalpur for evacuated survivors.

Demonstrating exceptional commitment, one JCO and 13 soldiers, including specialised divers of #ShatrujeetBrigade, were mobilised by air and commenced search operations at first light. Despite challenging conditions, the team recovered two deceased victims during early hours, aiding ongoing efforts to locate the missing.

The #IndianArmy stands in solidarity with the families of those affected. Our deepest condolences to the bereaved families, and prayers for the safety and early recovery of all missing individuals.
