Thanks to @scottishcilt for organizing today's conference for students in Higher and Advanced Higher modern languages! 🇫🇷🇪🇸🇮🇹🇨🇳 It was great for our learners to get a taste of uni life, learn about pronunciation & translation, and hear from uni language students! @knoxacademy

Yesterday some of our S4 & S5 students of Spanish attended a flamenco show by @flamencoalba as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It was great to be immersed in the folkloric music and dance of Andalucia! 💃 ¡Fue un espectáculo fantástico! @knoxacademy @knoxacademyHT

Happy last day of term to @knoxacademy! It's a tradition in our MFL department for our Highers to play Scrabble in another language and every year, they impress us with their dictionary skills and creativity! 🇪🇸 ¡Que tengan un verano relajante! ☀️ Profitez des vacances d'été!

Our S3 French classes have been preparing group presentations about the French town Aubigny-sur-Nère. They showcased their hard work to reps from the Haddington Twinning Association who awarded winning certificates to 2 groups! 🏆👏 #StudentSuccess #LanguagesInAction @knoxacademy

In Ms. Elder's creative elective class, S1 students have been able to showcase their artistic skills by designing and building piñatas based on Mexican birthday traditions. Students had a great time making and smashing the piñatas for treats!🪅@knoxacademy @knoxacademyHT

It's been a fun week in Higher Spanish! We trialled a new "Buzz In" game that went down a treat! For the first time we played Translation Jenga & the block removal concentration was intense! We also played Scrabble - our students were impresionantes! 🌟@knoxacademy @knoxacademyHT

Our second set of Higher Spanish pen pal letters is ready to be sent to Madrid! This time one of our students has also taken photos of @knoxacademy to show the Spanish students what our school looks like. Hopefully we'll get some photos of the Spanish school in return! 🤞

This term our S2 French classes have been detectives solving a theft in Paris! 🇫��� We've been learning about Parisian landmarks, Arsène Lupin, and vocabulary for describing suspects and a crime. We ended the unit by designing mind maps. We love the creativity! [2/2] @knoxacademy

Today S4 & S5 students of Spanish went to @thefrasercentre to participate in the Edinburgh Spanish Film Festival. We watched "El maestro que prometió el mar" - a lovely film based on a true story. Great to immerse ourselves in the language & Spanish history!
