Six Days of Fighting, one day of Peace
So. St. Thomas is out and about.
The other disciples are locked in an upper room for fear. Jesus comes to them and shows them His resurrected self.
Thomas returns and finds everyone has lost their mind: Risen from the dead? That's crazy.
Then, for six days, nothing but a bunch of men yelling at each other in a crowded, hot upper room.
Ten guys saying someone came back from the dead, one guy saying no way.
Six. Days.
It had to be awful.
Thomas lays out what he needs: an encounter with Christ.
Jesus comes and declares peace.
He shows Thomas what Thomas asked for and nothing tore those men apart afterward.
They bled and died, His name on their lips, all in unity that they saw Jesus risen from the dead.
So, here we are, in a 2000 year stretch like those 6 days.
Yelling at each other in a hot, crowded social media world; Anxious to get everyone to think like us.
None of us are actually listening to each other, all of us hearing what we think the person believes, and then judging what level of offense it gives us.
One day, Jesus will come, declare peace, meet us where we are and lead us to Heaven if we let Him.
Until then, if you are a Christian, I offer you my hand to sacrifice, bleed, and die together joyfully proclaiming the risen Christ.

It is almost impossible to overstate the importance of daily Scripture.
Everything we read, we take into our ourselves.
Everything we take into our ourselves changes us.
Most of us choose daily to take horrors into ourselves: the outrage mongers, the political hacks and those who see you as a means to wealth & power.
We take all this into ourselves and wonder why we are frightened and angry all the time.
Let God’s word enter you today and transform you.
Let truth, beauty & light be what makes you what you are.

Stop Letting Youth Sports Control Your Sunday
In this powerful clip from Will Cain Country, David Pollack discusses the difficult choices parents face in the world of high-level youth sports. Pollack recounts telling a national travel ball coach that his family would not compromise on church, even if it meant his daughter lost playing time. He warns parents against the "busy, busy, busy" trap of the world and explains why it is essential to demonstrate to your children that faith always comes before the game.
@Joeinblack “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
