Tesla hasn’t released a public FSD update in North America for 84 days. All efforts are clearly focused on the June launch of its Robotaxi service in Austin. This will be one of the biggest moments in the company's history — even if the initial fleet is limited to just a couple dozen vehicles or so.
If all goes well, I suspect Tesla will rapidly expand its fleet and service, quickly racking up miles. This will pave the way for service to launch in other regions in the US.
Waymo is currently doing 250,000 fully-autonomous robotaxi miles per week with a fleet of just 1,500 cars. Tesla can awaken a massive fleet with a single over-the-air software update. Let's see how it goes!
@whalechasin@SawyerMerritt Not even the weather, as Boston's isn't worse than the East Coast. The biggest challenge is navigating the city-- no matter what mapping software (waze, maps etc) the roads are so incredibly complicated I miss exits constantly. That and the drivers' overall but mostly the mapping
