@BebopJosh@SecretFire79 I’d never waste time on an anti-Mormon blog. I don’t hate you or your religion. But what I said is a fact.
This is a fantastic and objective book. I highly recommend it to all Mormons and Christians who ignorantly dismiss them.
@evidenceoffaith@SecretFire79 It’s important to remember the original Mormon religion and its separatist, military background. It’s peaceful now because they failed at military conquest and fell in line. It’s actually another thing the two religions share.
@BebopJosh@SecretFire79 The history and original vision for the Mormon religion wasn’t as peaceful as you might think. They intended to set up their own separate society and went as far as having their own armed military that fought the American government.
I’m completely against the 50-year mortgage idea, it’s insane. Housing prices are already ridiculous, and people have largely stopped buying. That should force sellers to lower prices, simple supply and demand. But a 50-year mortgage is just a clever way to sidestep that reality by preying on financially illiterate buyers who only look at the monthly payment instead of the total cost.
A 50-year mortgage doesn’t make you a homeowner. It makes you a glorified renter who’s responsible for all the repairs and upkeep. Please don’t fall for it. And remember, all the “experts” pushing this idea make their living off real estate, so of course they think it’s a good thing — it makes them more money, not you.
