HUGE BREAKING: Today, Karnataka High Court issued notice in the WP in Public Interest filed by Dr. @Swamy39 on making a commission to look into the demands of the Codava National Council (CNC).

Today, Dr. @Swamy39 mentioned the Codava matter praying for a committee to be formed under the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka to look into the demands of the Codavas. Hon’ble Court, directed the matter to be listed on 17.04.2023. Will update on the matter accordingly.

Today I informed the Union Minister Prahlad Joshi that if the long long overdue Codava Administrative Council of Karnataka for the brave Codava community [known sometimes as Coorgis] is not notified by the Karnataka Government, I may have to approach the Court.

Minor Irrigation department is constructing a check dam across a stream in Kedkal, Coorg, allegedly to create a large water body for a resort. With this, farmers downstream will be denied water both for drinking and agricultural purposes. Hope @CMofKarnataka stops this.

Similarly Kodava Language is spoken by people of Coorg which was a Part C State of the Indian Union till 1956

The people of Coorg are hardy and have contributed to India's military and sporting spirit in a generous manner

Their language too deserves entry into the 8th schedule
