Pope Leo XIV offers a heartfelt message to the Knights of Columbus gathered for the 143rd Supreme Convention in Washington, D.C.
Speaking during the Jubilee Year of Hope, the Holy Father reflects on the virtue of hope and commends the Knights for their faithful witness through charity, fraternity, and service to those in need.
He honors the legacy of Blessed Michael McGivney and encourages all Knights to be living “Heralds of Hope” in their communities and throughout the world.

“Whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” — Matthew 10:39
In today’s Gospel, Jesus calls us to a radical kind of love, one that places Him above all else and is willing to sacrifice for His sake.
In letting go, we discover something greater. In giving, we receive. Even the smallest act of love, done for Christ, carries eternal value.
🙏 Lord, help us follow You with wholehearted love, embrace the crosses we are given, and trust that in You we find true life.
Today is the 100th anniversary of Martyr's Shrine, a place of international pilgrimage in Ontario and significance in the Church's history in North America. ⛪ We also acknowledge the arrival of St. Jean de Brébeuf and his companions in Huronia 400 years ago. St. Jean de Brébeuf and his companions sacrificed their lives for the faith and out of love for the Indigenous Peoples they encountered. May we find inspiration from these martyrs in our own lives - to love and serve those around us and point the world to Jesus in how we live.

Seminarians preparing for the priesthood gathered at St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore for the St. John Vianney Soccer Cup, a tournament that fostered fraternity among future priests from dioceses across the Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia region.
Named for Saint John Vianney, the event began and ended with prayer before the Eucharist, uniting seminarians from diverse backgrounds in faith, fellowship, and friendly competition. As brother Knights, many also serve their communities through the charitable work of the Knights of Columbus.
In his latest column for Columbia, Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly reflects on how devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and frequent reception of the Eucharist are the keys to developing authentic fatherhood. “In revealing the Father’s love,” writes the supreme knight, “Christ is our best guide for what it means to be a father, and he shows us that being a good father begins with being a good son.”

When Jesus revealed His Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, He spoke of His great love for humanity and His sorrow that so many failed to return that love.
Devotion to the Sacred Heart is an invitation to respond, not out of fear or obligation, but with gratitude. Spend a few moments in prayer, attend Mass if you can, or simply tell Jesus that you love Him.
His Heart remains open to everyone.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, make our hearts like unto Thine.

One of the beautiful traditions connected to the Sacred Heart is the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart in the home.
By placing an image of the Sacred Heart in a place of honor and dedicating the family to Christ, we acknowledge that Jesus is the true King of our homes. It is a simple but powerful way to invite His peace, mercy, and guidance into everyday family life.

The Sacred Heart is wrapped in a crown of thorns because true love is willing to bear pain for the beloved.
Jesus carries the wounds caused by sin, rejection, and indifference, yet He never stops loving. The pierced and wounded Heart of Christ shows us that mercy is stronger than suffering.
In a world that often runs from sacrifice, the Sacred Heart teaches us that authentic love always gives itself away.

In Radom, Poland, the Knights of Columbus are providing hospitality and support to Ukrainian widows and their children whose husbands and fathers were killed in the ongoing war. By welcoming these families into their community, the Knights embody Christ’s call to care for the vulnerable, offering compassion, friendship, and hope to those carrying the heavy burden of loss. Through their acts of charity, they provide not only practical assistance but also a reminder that these families are not alone in their suffering.
Today we celebrate the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, forerunner of our Lord whose famous words have enriched the Church for millennia: "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand", "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world”, and "He must increase; I must decrease". He is also the patron saint of Québec.
St. John the Baptist, pray for us!

Making rosaries by hand is a tradition dating back to the Middle Ages, one that Joselito Estrella, Grand Knight of Council 13344 in the Philippines, continues during breaks along his jeepney route. The rosaries he and his wife craft are distributed free of charge through their Knights of Columbus council.
Through the Lipat Poon devotion, in which an image of Our Lady is brought from home to home for prayer, the Knights encourage families to keep the rosary close at hand, pray together, and grow in devotion to the Blessed Mother, who always leads her children closer to her Son.
The image of the Sacred Heart is rich with meaning. The fire above His Heart symbolizes the intensity of Jesus’ love, a love that is active, passionate, and never-ending.
No matter how far we wander or how many times we fall, Christ’s love continues to burn for us. The Sacred Heart is a reminder that we are always invited to come home.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in You.

In the Knights of Columbus-produced series Into the Breach: The Dignity of Work, Katie McGrady reminds us that "having it all" is a myth and underscores of the importance of pursuing a meaningful life of faith and devotion to the Lord.

Happy Father’s Day!
Today we give thanks for fathers, grandfathers, priests, mentors, and all the men who reflect God’s fatherly love through their generosity, guidance, and sacrifice.
In a world that needs strong families and faithful leadership, we are grateful for the men who answer the call to protect, provide, and serve.
May St. Joseph inspire all fathers to lead with courage, humility, and unwavering faith.
Thank you, all fathers, for the difference you make every day.
“Do not be afraid… you are worth more than many sparrows.” — Matthew 10:31
In today’s Gospel, Jesus speaks directly to our fears. He reminds us that we are known, loved, and held in the care of the Father, all the way down to the smallest detail of our lives.
Because of this, we can live with courage, speaking truth and being a witness to our faith without fear.
🙏 Lord, quiet our fears, strengthen our trust in Your care, and give us courage to stand for You each day.
Mike Sweeney Sr. had the talent to pursue a professional baseball career, but chose the vocation of husband and father over pursuing baseball glory. When his first son, Mike Jr., was born prematurely and not expected to survive, his parents turned to fervent prayer. By God’s grace, Mike recovered, eventually fulfilling the dream his father set aside by playing Major League Baseball with the Kansas City Royals—and today, as a Knight of Columbus, lives out that same commitment to faith, family, and service.
The witness of Blessed Józef Ulma reminds us that true firmness isn’t harshness. It’s steadfast love and courage to live your convictions day after day. This father’s witness exemplifies what it means to be faithful to God, to his wife, and to his children.
For Sergio Urrutia, the mission has always been clear: help protect as many Catholic families as possible. That sense of purpose is what continues to drive the work Knights of Columbus agents do every day. It is about showing up for families, having important conversations, and helping them put protection in place when it matters most. To connect with an agent near you, visit https://t.co/G3qo3MaFCj
And here are two more saints who were fathers we can learn from:
St. Thomas More
More remained faithful to God, even at the cost of his life. His witness challenges fathers to stand firm in truth, no matter the circumstances.
St. Louis Martin
The father of St. Thérèse loved his children deeply and encouraged them to follow God’s call. He shows that tenderness and holiness belong together.
