Alpine glaciers were ice-free 6,000 years ago, long before industrial CO2. Known as the Holocene Thermal Maximum, the period was far warmer than today.

Then, during the Little Ice Age, 1300 to 1850, glaciers advanced dramatically. Villages, farmland, even churches were swallowed by ice.

The glaciers' retreat since 1850 simply marks a return to pre-Little Ice Age conditions, nothing more.

The biggest driver of glacier melt is sunlight. Direct solar radiation causes sublimation - ice turning straight to vapor. And sunshine has been increasing worldwide as cloud cover has declined.

Satellite data confirm more incoming solar energy reaching Earth's surface over the last few decades.

This extra sunlight has resulted in modest melt in the Alps and elsewhere, while also boosting crop growth and photosynthesis.

The real warning sign wouldn't be retreat. It would be sudden advance. Glaciers growing again would mean colder, harsher conditions returning. And history shows that's when life suffers most.

On behalf of the largest police news outlet in the world, we're officially calling for the resignation or termination of this officer IMMEDIATELY.

A female Fort Worth police officer was caught on camera threatening to ticket a retired federal law enforcement officer and Christian street preacher for “offensive speech.”

The officer told the man that if someone is offended by his preaching, then “we have a problem” and said she would issue him a ticket. When he asked if she was really going to ticket him for offensive speech, she replied, “Yes, I am.”

This is a blatant violation of the First Amendment. Police officers do not have the authority to ticket people for speech that offends others. That is the exact opposite of how freedom of speech works in America.

The fact that this officer targeted a retired federal law enforcement officer who was simply preaching makes this even more unacceptable.

Departments that employ officers who openly disregard the Constitution need to clean house. This kind of behavior erodes public trust and makes every good officer’s job harder.

Turns out the climate apocalypse scenario that governments used to draw hazard lines across people’s property, jack up insurance costs, distort lending decisions, steer infrastructure spending, and hammer home values was apparently never supposed to be treated like a forecast.

Who knew?

Well… awkwardly enough, the people who built the damn framework seem to have known.

For years, RCP8.5 was waved around as “business as usual.” The nightmare future. The path we were supposedly barreling toward unless politicians were handed more power, bureaucrats got more control, and taxpayers coughed up more money.

Then local governments did what local governments do.

They took the scary graph seriously.

They stamped hazard warnings onto property files. They planned around the extreme scenario. They treated a stress test like the central future. Ordinary homeowners watched the consequences show up in property values and insurance bills.

And now?

Now one of the scenario architects says describing RCP8.5 as business as usual was “always a wrong way to describe it.”

Oh.

Well, thanks for clearing that up after fifteen years.

Apparently the homeowner was supposed to know that the “future” used against his property wasn’t really the future future. It was more of an abstract hypothetical exploratory stress-test future that somehow escaped the laboratory, wandered into city hall, grabbed a zoning map, and started ruining people financially.

Simple misunderstanding.

No refunds, naturally.

No accountability.

No apology from the expert class.

Just the usual institutional magic trick:

First they scare you with the model.
Then they govern you with the model.
Then they damage you with the model.
Then they explain you misunderstood the model.

1) proof of contact between the accuser and the accused
2) documented allegations from the accuser naming the accused to others *before* the accused rose to the national stage
3) multiple accusers with documented proof of contact and long-standing recognition of abuse

Liberals who are saying "this is just like Kavanaugh" are just reminding everyone of how flimsy the Kavanaugh accusations were

They are also letting you know that they don't care about evidence. They will accuse their enemies without any documented evidence. They will protect their own even with mountains of evidence.
