The most insane and unfair thing about the Bleach Copyright Strike issue is how 1 bad faith contractor can ruin an entire community during the peak of Bleach, and nothing will be done about it

@VIZMedia isn't the one issuing these strikes, it's an abuser of the brittle copyright system that uses bots to scrape anything related to their IP and will spam DMCA takedowns, not just on YouTube but across various social media platforms

They send emails threatening you with lawsuits and demand a written admission of guilt, and then they use these receipts to approach companies like VIZ to be a hall monitor when VIZ themselves have no idea what's actually happening on the frontline

They abuse their authority and issue fraudulent DMCA takedowns envoking VIZ's name

Just search "removeyourmedia" on twitter or reddit and you'll find people being harrassed by them for the past decade +

If one was leaking and reuploading the anime episodes with 0 transformation to operate under fair use and had the intent of it being a market replacement for the source, that's when DMCA actually would matter

However that's not what the vast majority of the Bleach content creators are doing that are targetted by these takedowns

I understand how many perceive reaction content to be lazy and parasytic but all it does is actually create more motion for Bleach and acts as advertisement to support the brand even more

Why do you think companies like Crunchyroll sponsor big influencers to stream and react to their anime ?

It's because influencer marketing is the best form of advertisement for their return on investment

The difference is that grassroots content creators advertise and market the anime without being paid by corporations and they still get fucked over because of how easy it is to abuse copyright law

The true cancerous parasytes of this ecosystem are the abusers of the copyright system that makes a living off of fraudulent DMCA takedowns which doesn't help Bleach but only serves to fill their own little pockets

Ignorant corporations will pay these bad faith contractors to kill the motion for their own product

Everything about this process is beyond retarded

This is the unfair reality of making anime content
