And to add, people often forget that in recent years, whenever the BJP has faced a significant electoral setback, it has shown a remarkable ability to regroup and come back stronger. Look at MP, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh after the 2018 defeats.

One reason, in my observation, is that the BJP tends to take electoral feedback seriously, review what went wrong and put considerable effort into rebuilding its organisation and ground connect.

Of course, no party gets everything right, and I’m happy to be corrected, but this ability to introspect, adapt and do the groundwork after a setback seems to be one of the BJP’s biggest organisational strengths.

Thanks for the clarification. I accept that I misunderstood one part of your earlier comment. You’ve clarified that your argument isn’t that women blame-shift more, but that men and women tend to justify infidelity differently.

My question, however, remains the same. If that is a general psychological claim, I don’t think asking for evidence is questioning psychology or your credibility. It’s simply asking how that conclusion was reached.

I also don’t think the doctor analogy is comparable. We don’t randomly walk into any doctor’s clinic and blindly accept everything they say. I mean atleast i don’t do that.Most people look at qualifications, experience, reviews, hospital reputation, and often even seek second opinions before major treatment. Trust in expertise is important, but evidence and transparency are equally important.

I’ve had enough exposure to mental health professionals to appreciate psychology as a discipline. That’s precisely why I asked for evidence. Psychology, like every scientific discipline, progresses by testing, questioning and supporting claims with research, not by accepting conclusions solely because someone is an expert.

Throughout your thread, these conclusions are presented as factual statements, not as personal interpretations or hypotheses. If they are established findings, I’d genuinely like to read the comparative studies supporting them. If they are your interpretation of the available literature, then I think it’s fair to distinguish that from established evidence.

If I’ve misunderstood any part of your position, I’m more than happy to correct myself and learn something new. That’s the whole point of asking the question in the first place.

You started by saying your comment was only about this particular post. But the rest of your thread makes repeated claims about how women and men generally behave (“when women use DARVO…”, “women hold the moral high ground more aggressively…”). That’s no longer an analysis of one fictional character it’s a general psychological claim. If those are general claims, they need general evidence.

Throwing around terms like DARVO, gaslighting, projection, externalization and evolutionary psychology doesn’t automatically make a conclusion scientific. Technical terminology is only as good as the evidence supporting the claims built on top of it.

DARVO itself isn’t a gender-specific theory. Self-serving bias isn’t “outdated” either, it’s still a well-established concept in psychology. If the claim is that women systematically blame-shift more than men after infidelity, then that requires robust comparative, peer-reviewed evidence, not anecdotes or fictional examples.

So instead of more jargon, I’d genuinely appreciate citations for:
• Women use emotional justification significantly more than men.
• Women hold the moral high ground more aggressively after cheating.
• “Evolutionary verbal eloquence” is an established psychological construct.

Until then, these remain hypotheses or personal interpretations, not established psychological facts.

Blame-shifting after cheating is a documented psychological phenomenon called the self-serving bias. Research shows perpetrators often blame partners or circumstances to justify their actions. That’s not a uniquely female behavior. Criticize the cheating and the excuse, but turning one fictional character into “when a woman cheats…” is a textbook hasty generalization.

@NandanNilekani, heartiest congratulations on being appointed to lead the team that will refine the national testing. You may like to consider raising this aspect with the PMO - the JM issue is generally done and dusted, need a deep relook at this Reservation in Education. One group want it to continue, the politicians too, since removing it has major political implications. Another also wants Reservation, but based on EWS. And a third wants an end to it.
Meanwhile, the General Cadre (GC), suffers. For ease of understanding, we have a group that gets Reservation, Reservation Group (RG), with very low cut-off but jump over GCs with higher marks. In the long run, merit suffers and nation pays the price.
A out-of-box solution to resolve the Reservation and Merit quagmire.
1. Give a weighted average to the RG, who are considered under privileged.
2. Multiply this to the marks they have scored, and bring them relatively at par with GC.
3. Only one merit list.
How this works:
4. Say weighted average is 1.25.
5. Place merit bar at 75 percentile for GC.
6. Then equivalent score for IG is 60 percentile (60 x 1.25 = 75).
7. Now make a single Merit List.
8. Now, if vacancies are left, divide it pro-rata between GC and IG.
9. Bring merit down to 63 percentile for GC and 50 percentile (equivalent to 63) for IG.
10. Add to merit list.
11. Continue to iterate in same manner till all vacancies are filled.
12. In this day and age, with AI, can generate software to meet this requirement.
It will go a large extent to ease the concerns of GCs and merit needs.

You are demanding accountability from Delhi Police. Fair enough. But where was the organisers’ accountability? Delhi Police reportedly insisted on Aadhaar-verified entry and other security measures at the protest site, yet those measures became a point of contention. If reasonable verification was resisted, how were genuine protesters supposed to be protected from criminal infiltration? Accountability cuts both ways. Now bear the consequences.

Humne agar Maa-Papa ya kisi bhi bade ki disrespect ki hoti, toh seedha laafa padta tha aur uske baad dobara himmat nahi hoti. 😂 Iska matlab violence ko justify karna nahi hai, lekin respect aur boundaries ghar se hi seekhi jaati hain. Maa-baap hi bachche ki pehli school hote hain. Sirf achhi education aur comfortable life dena hi parenting nahi hai; values, empathy, respect aur accountability bhi utne hi zaroori hain. Bachche ko sirf successful nahi, achha insaan banana bhi utna hi important hai.
