As a shock to I think just about everyone.
Coach Jesse Kallechy has opted not to return to the Komets despite a competitive offer for the foreseeable future.
Coaches Olivier Legault and Cory Melkert will remain with the Team.
@ThevintageJO3 Exactly as I said all year it’s ok to be constructive. However we still need to be showing staff and players respect. It definitely got out of hand this year.
Jesse Kallechy has posted a letter addressed to the Jungle. Give it a read Komets Fans!
I will forever be grateful for what Jesse did in his short tenure with the organization.
Look forward to seeing what he does next!
@ThevintageJO3 For sure and I’d say he took a lot of crap over the past 3 years and handled it extremely well! However this year it seemed to be even worse with a bigger group just absolutely tearing into the staff. More than what is “acceptable”
@miller4729 And that’s constructive criticism! That’s ok! I too was constructive throughout the season!! But we still treated the staff and players with respect.
It’s the fans who were acting like we were at the bottom of the league who were saying he needed to be let go that are in that 3%
"I hope we were able to give the community a team that they were proud of."
After 3 seasons leading the @FWKomets, Jesse Kallechy (@JKallechy93235) is stepping away as head coach, citing personal reasons.
Been a privilege to see Kallechy's Komets grow from year-to-year 🫡
@easternrefugee@JKallechy93235 Gotcha! I figured we would get another goaltender. This affiliation has been probably one of our best as far as support goes
@easternrefugee@JKallechy93235 Jonsson and Day split the games. I want to say Jonsson ended up playing maybe 4 more games than Day? He had a hot streak that the staff rode for a bit
@ArnettNehemiah@brriittttaanny I mean brotha he was +14 at the end of the regular season and +4 at the end of the playoffs. I’d say that’s a huge loss.
@easternrefugee@JKallechy93235 Ended up doing pretty solid!
Won series one in 5 (one rough game)
Won series two and the division championship against a longtime rival in 6 games.
Series three as you mentioned we went to the Conference Finals and ended up losing in 6 games in overtime.
@brriittttaanny Seems like it was already going to be a heavy Europe departure season (I mean it’s happening all across the league one right after another) then add losing one of your key components of stability for a team definitely doesn’t help with retention!
