Today, I welcomed a group of young minds to my office for an engaging and thought-provoking dialogue on leadership, governance and national development.

Far from asking routine questions, these young minds demonstrated remarkable curiosity and civic awareness. They challenged me on what truly motivates one to serve as a Member of Parliament despite the sacrifices involved. They sought to understand how a Minority Leader can hold government accountable without obstructing governance. They asked about the realities and challenges of public leadership, the future of artificial intelligence, youth entrepreneurship, unemployment among graduate teachers and nurses, the preparation required to become responsible leaders, and the role of discipline, technology, and civic values in shaping the next generation.

Our conversation also extended to broader questions of national politics. We discussed the ideological distinctions between political parties, the future direction of the New Patriotic Party, Free SHS, digitisation, national unity and the responsibility of political leaders to build an inclusive Ghana that serves every citizen regardless of background.

These questions reflected a generation determined to understand how our democracy functions, how public institutions should serve the people and what role they themselves must play in securing Ghana's future.

I also shared with them the demanding responsibilities of a Member of Parliament, from representing constituents and scrutinising legislation to exercising oversight over the Executive and ensuring that every decision taken in Parliament advances the national interest. Above all, I encouraged them to remain intellectually curious, develop the habit of critical thinking, embrace innovation and prepare themselves to become ethical leaders and active citizens.

Witnessing their intellectual maturity, confidence, and patriotic commitment leaves me with renewed optimism. If these young minds continue to cultivate knowledge, integrity and a genuine desire to serve, then the future of our Republic is in capable hands.
