Guess lecture today from Lt Jg Posch from #StarfleetAcademy in #SanFrancisco. Unfortunately, their evolved sensibilities prevent me from giving him an honorarium. At least he works to better himself and the rest of humanity 🖖🤣 #LLAP#Halloween2022
Happy my paper with Conor O’Dwyer is out now—Open Access—in @govandopp. Using data from Poland and Hungary, we look at two factors in local elections that might inhibit dominant party regime consolidation: runoff elections and strategic coordination https://t.co/mdH0K6DYIk (1/n)
HAPPENING TOMORROW: Sept 1, 2022 (4-5:30pm PDT): Brad @Delong (@BerkeleyEcon) discusses his new book "Slouching Toward Utopia" with Robert Brenner (@UCLA). In person & Zoom Hybrid.

There's still time to enroll in my @berkeleysummer class for session D (begins July 5). Excited to teach all @UCBerkeley students, but would like to particularly extend a warm invitation to #CalTransfers. Students from other UC campuses & other #BayArea campuses can also enroll!
I know yall have ~2 weeks before making final acceptance decisions, but I'd love to welcome #CalTransfers students coming to @UCBerkeley & participating in Transfer Edge this @berkeleysummer to consider my course. Happy to chat over DM!

@CalTransfers
This course in particular might be of interest to yall b/c it deals with the challenges rich countries like the US, Japan, Korea, Germany, and France face in delivering on the promise of opportunity for people from diverse backgrounds even though they have the resources to do it.

I've had many transfer students in my classes over the years & have always found them an interesting and vital contribution to the discussion of the subjects I teach.
#StarTrek TMP really hit home for me in a new way with the 4k Director's Edition. It's always had a very Trek story, but I was surprised how the Spock/v'ger parallel hit in a way it never had before & still the best glamour shots of the best Enterprise (Constitution Refit 4eva!)
And no one twist this to say old trek is better than new trek. This happened because new trek, and new trek is carrying on the #50yearMission with both the highs and lows of the first 50 years (#TNG season 1 anyone?)
