His camp held talks with #LFC overnight, and those are said to have ended positively. No fresh contact from Liverpool since this morning, but the pursuit hasn't been closed off either.

Liverpool have decided NOT to sell Cody Gakpo anymore.

Liverpool have communicated to Gakpo’s agents and Manchester City that they are rejecting the bid and keeping the player.

This is a surprise because, just one or two days ago, the deal looked very likely. It was never done, but Gakpo had agreed personal terms with Manchester City over the weekend and was ready to make the move.

However, Liverpool decided not to proceed because finding a replacement at the same level as Gakpo is considered too difficult at this stage.

After the rejected bid for Ismaïla Sarr and the Yankuba Minteh talks failing to produce a deal, Liverpool’s decision is clear:
