Just a few examples from our 9th grade studio art students superb ceramics. Students each completed 4 projects using various building techniques. Lots of students will be sipping cocoa out of mugs and eating cereal from bowls they hand made. Great job by all! #SFCSDPROUD #MAART

Digital Art is nearing the end of the tutorials and showing of their newly learned Adobe Illustrator skills. 11 teacher-made tutorials later and it’s on to the Panda Practice. I feel like they all need “I survived Korba’s voice in my head for 5 weeks” t-shirts. #MAProud

So proud of my favorite ceramicists. These ladies have been some of the best clay artist, and young ladies I have ever taught. I will miss our talks in the studio and sharing our love of clay and life together. You all will be missed greatly. Best of luck on your next journey!

4 years ago I wrote a post-it note to remind me to “yell” at Amy bc she didn’t put away the colored pencils. It became a running joke & I promised her that I would keep that note & bring it to graduation to yell at her one more time. Last night, I fulfilled that promise.Congrats!

Got to open one of my favorite kilns of the year. Advanced art used under glazes to paint simple slumped forms. These plates and platters are functional as well as beautiful. #SFCSDPROUD #MAART

Ms. Becker & I finished installing an art show at the Women’s Rights Museum just as the Park was closing. A few touch ups tomorrow & it will be set to be viewed throughout Women’s History Month. This work is tied to the NAE grant awarded to us & to our connection to Womens Rights

I keep forgetting to post our monthly “Feel Good Friday’s”. We made it a Tuesday due to break & students competed in a pancake art contest. If we had flops they still tasted good. The contest was followed by pancake eating with lots of syrup. All in all 7 boxes of mix were eaten.

Forgot to post this! We held Feel Good Friday early due to conflicts today.On the 1st day students were asked for a word that they would see & remind them of a goal/aspiration. Ms. Becker & I then bought supplies & laser cut their words. Ss then made bracelets or key chains.
